ABOUT THE AUTHOR


Mark Twain, born Samuel Langhorne Clemens, was an American writer born on
November 30, 1835, in Florida, Missouri, and passed away on April 21, 1910, in
Redding, Connecticut. He is known to be one of the greatest writers in
American literature and a pioneer of realistic fiction.
Twain spent much of his youth along the Mississippi River, which deeply
